Final Report: RESEARCH AREA 7.1:Exploring the Systematics of Controlling Quantum Phenomena Report Title This research is concerned with the theoretical and experimental control quantum dynamics phenomena. Advances include new algorithms to accelerate quantum control as well as provide physical insights into the controlled dynamics. The latter research includes the demonstration of a new protoco...
متن کاملSpectroscopy of the neighboring massive clusters Abell 222 and Abell 223
We present a spectroscopic catalog of the neighboring massive clusters Abell 222 and Abell 223. The catalog contains the positions, redshifts, R magnitudes, V −R color, as well as the equivalent widths for a number of lines for 183 galaxies, 153 of them belonging to the A 222 and A 223 system. We determine the heliocentric redshifts to be z = 0.2126 ± 0.0008 for A 222 and z = 0.2079 ± 0.0008 fo...

متن کاملSge : HST Spectroscopy of the Cooling of the White Dwarf after the 2001
Following an outburst in 2001 July, the UV flux of WZ Sge has declined slowly toward pre-outburst levels. Here, we describe new 1150-1710Å HST/STIS spectra of WZ Sge obtained between 2002 April and 2003 March to follow the decline. A combined analysis of these and spectra obtained in the fall of 2001 show that if log g=8.5, then the white dwarf temperature decreased from 23,400 K in 2001 Oc-tob...
متن کاملX-ray spectroscopy on Abell 478 with XMM-Newton
We report the results from a spatially resolved spectroscopy study with XMM-Newton on the relaxed cluster of galaxies Abell 478. From the EPIC data we extract a temperature profile and radial abundance profiles for Ne, Mg, Si, S, Ca, Fe and Ni. The abundance profiles follow the same trends as observed in other clusters. The spectra of the core of the cluster can be best fitted with a multi-temp...
